Cornwall lost by 40 runs to reigning Minor Counties champions Cheshire in their MCCA Western Division clash.

Chasing 257 to win, the Duchy lost their last four wickets for a single run as they were bowled out for 217.

Batting first Cheshire made 280-9 as Shakil Ahmed took 5-88 before Cornwall were bowled out for 158 in reply.

Ahmed took 4-60 and Neil Ivamy 4-37 as they restricted Cheshire to 135 all out in their second innings but failed to chase down their target.
