BBC Radio Solent's Kevan James:
"It was a pitch that had draw written all over it from ball one, although the way it was arrived at was not top of the list.
"After Kent went past the Hampshire first innings total, they were committed to bowling the visiting side out.
"However only James Tredwell was a threat even though the odd ball that turned did so slowly.
"Liam Dawson had to bat well on the last day to ensure there were no alarms from the Hampshire point of view."
