Minor Counties: Herefordshire slump to two-day defeat by Wales

Herefordshire suffered a two-day defeat in their opening Minor Counties Championship match of the season against Wales at Pontarddulais.

Charlie Walker hit a century for the visitors on the first day as Herefordshire were bowled out for 268.

But Wales closed on 165-0 and went on to declare at 405-7 after lunch on day two, with Rhodri Evans hitting 168.

Herefordshire were then all out for 144 second time around, Nigel Davies taking 5-25, setting Wales just eight to win.

And the home side duly reached their target on 10-0.

Herefordshire start their first home Championship game of the season against Berkshire at Eastnor on 23 June.
