Three late wickets brought Derbyshire back into the game in their promotion battle with Kent at Canterbury.

The visitors, who began day two on 32-1, were dismissed for 200 with Mark Davies taking 5-27, while Wayne Madsen top scored with 64.

Title-chasing Derbyshire, who were last in the top flight in 2000, were grateful to Tom Poynton (45).

Wes Durston took 2-7 in five overs as Kent slipped from 58-0 to 59-3 at close - a lead of 120 runs.

BBC Radio Kent's Matt Cole:

"This game is twisting and turning like an angry cobra.

"Kent have their noses ahead after some characteristically accurate bowling from Davies.

"But three late wickets from Derbyshire's spinners mean they're still in with a realistic chance of a win going into day three."
