VIEWS FROM THE COMMENTARY BOX
BBC London 94.9's Kevin Hand:
"It was Worcestershire's day thanks to an inspired knock from their captain Daryl Mitchell, who has the chance to deservedly carry his bat.
"Having been put in, the hosts would have feared the worst at 52-3 but were steadied by Mitchell and Alexei Kervezee's defiance.
"The latter was the more positive of the two but paid the price by lobbing a drive to mid-on just after reaching the half-century mark.
"Middlesex will feel that too many runs got away on a two-paced pitch. There was additional bounce for the bowlers to unsettle the batsman but equally there was no guarantee that a genuine edge would carry.
"Worcestershire are set for a par score but if they can pick up early wickets then there is enough in the track for the bowlers to heap pressure on the batsman."
