Springfield registered the only result in a rain-affected opening weekend in Jersey's Premier League as they beat Farmers by 42 runs thanks to the Duckworth-Lewis system.
Former island captain Matt Hague carried his bat throughout Springfield's innings with 84 not out as his side were bowled out for 167.
William Holm took five wickets for Farmers and hit 22 runs with the bat.
But his team-mates could not help him as they finished on 90-7.
Mark Saralis took three wickets for 32 as Farmers failed to reach their revised total of 133 from 28.2 overs.
The matches between Sporting Club Francais and Old Victorians at FB Fields, and Victoria College and St Ouen at Grainville were both rained off.
