Leicestershire announce return to profit

Leicestershire Cricket Club have announced a profit of nearly £300,000 for their last financial year.

The club lost more than £400,000 for the previous year, but success in the FL t20 and a lucrative home game against India has turned that around.

Donations also swelled the coffers and helped bring a total profit of £294,022 for the year ending 30 September 2011.

Chief executive Mike Siddall told BBC Radio Leicester: "We're absolutely delighted. Everybody has worked hard."

He added: "We were fortunate to win the Twenty20 competition which brought increased revenue and £60,000 prize money as well."
