Leicestershire wicketkeeper Paul Nixon has joined the club's coaching staff, BBC Radio Leicester understands.

Nixon, who announced his plans to retire earlier this month, is to take up a role as a batting coach until the end of the season.

The former England one-day international had his career extended because of their FL t20 successexternal-link.

Nixon, 40, is scheduled to play on final day on 27 August and will also be available to face India at Grace Road.
