CLOSE OF PLAY SUMMARY
BBC Radio Kent's Ben Croucher:
"Leicestershire's confident batting display lit up a gloomy afternoon in the East Midlands. Refusing the be overawed by the constant breaks and tricky conditions, they batted aggressively to dominate the day.
"Tom New's half-century on a bouncing, spinning wicket was the major highlight. Leaving Thakor to face the Tredwell's tough turn, New attacked the pace bowling of Riaz and Ball, driving and glancing them for regular boundaries.
"The hosts may have dried up Kent's hopes of victory in the little play we had today. The irony is that Mother Nature may have washed away Leicestershire's chances too.
"An aggressive declaration could spice things up in the morning but if Kent have to bat for over two sessions, you wouldn't bet against a Leicestershire victory."
