|Warwickshire 4pts, Sussex 2pts|
Keith Barker compiled a career-best century as Warwickshire piled on the runs on day two against Sussex.
The hosts, who were 192-6 at one stage on day one, resumed on 261-6 and Barker (118) helped them to 521 all out.
He was well supported by Jeetan Patel (65) and Chris Woakes (74), who added 29 to his overnight score, James Anyon finishing with 5-136.
Sussex reached stumps on 103-3, still 418 runs behind, with Chris Nash hitting a six in his 52 off 73 balls.
His 155-run partnerhsip with Patel was a record for the ninth wicket between the two sides and Barker was last man out, but not before he had smashed one six and 17 fours from only 137 balls.
Sussex, who have only one Championship victory at Edgbaston in the last 50 years, let a dominate position slip away from them after Monty Panesar's three wickets on day one.
The visitors still have a lot of work to do to avoid the follow on, Woakes with 2-36 in 11 overs was particularly impressive for the Warwickshire with the ball.
