Monty Panesar claimed three wickets as Sussex beat Gloucestershire by seven wickets in a rain-hit game at Bristol.

In a match reduced to 17 overs per side, spinners Panasar (3-14) and Michael Yardy (2-22) left Gloucestershire languising on 97-9.

In-form Murray Goodwin (27) and Lou Vincent (31 not out) eased the visitors to victory with 15 balls to spare.

The result made it two wins out of two for Sussex while Gloucestershire have lost all three of their games.

Gloucestershire captain Alex Gidman told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:

"The guys are obviously very deflated. A lot of the things we've talked about haven't come off.

"In the next few days we'll be sitting down and taking a look at things to see what we need to do.

"It's a mental thing as much as anything else, we need to refresh our minds."
