Northants sealed victory over Glamorgan by an innings and 177 runs before lunch on the final day at Wantage Road.
Glamorgan resumed on 119-3 but crumbled after opener Gareth Rees fell to James Middlebrook in the first over of the day without adding to his overnight 44.
Only Mark Wallace (39 not out), Alex Jones (26) and Dean Cosker (20) then resisted as they were all out for 212.
Chaminda Vaas (5-60) picked up three more wickets to finish with match figures of 10-82.
It was the fourth 10-wicket haul of the former Sri Lanka seamer's career.
Northants' victory was their third by an innings this season and took them 26 points clear of second-placed Glamorgan at the top of the table
Northants captain Andrew Hall told BBC Radio Northampton:
"The guys have been working hard. We have given them a bit more responsibility.
"When it's going well you've got to keep on that crest.
"He's (Vaas) been bowling brilliantly for a long spell now. We're really happy it's come at this time as we head into Twenty20 cricket."
Glamorgan coach Matthew Mott toll BBC Radio Wales:
"We were on the wrong end of some world class bowling, and I think the lessons we spoke about is immaculate line and length, and the relentless pressure that he [Chaminda Vaas] put on our batsmen.
"And the two young guys [seamers Alex Jones and Chris Ashling] will hopefully have a real good look at that.
"We have got a long break now in the Championship. So it gives us time to restock and hopefully get some fast bowlers back and we can have a real assault at the back end of the county season."
