Durham all-rounder Paul Collingwood hopes to be fit for England's Twenty20 and one-day internationals against Sri Lanka after a knee operation.
Collingwood, 34, missed several games at the cricket World Cup having struggled with knee problems.
"He has successfully undergone routine arthroscopic surgery on his left knee," an England and Wales Cricket Board statement said.
"Collingwood will begin his recovery and rehabilitation period with Durham."
Durham are also likely to be able to call on Collingwood's services ahead of England's series with Sri Lanka in June.
