Teenage shooting star Amber Hill hopes the Glasgow Commonwealth Games can be part of her 'crazy' rise to the top.

The 16-year-old from Berkshire became the youngest winner of a senior World Cup in skeet shooting last year.

She will be part of the England clay target team in the shooting events, which run from 25-29 July in Glasgow.

"The last couple of years have been crazy and now I'm going to represent my country at such a huge multi-sports event," she said.

"A couple of years ago I was still shooting in local competitions having fun with my granddad and I never would have believed how fast things have moved on."

Hill won the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year award last year, following the likes of Paralympic champion Ellie Simmonds, diver Tom Daley and footballer Wayne Rooney.

But she is hoping to use her Glasgow experience to help her reach the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

"Rio is my dream and that is what I am working towards, and the Commonwealth Games should provide a great insight into the sort of thing I can expect," she added.

"I'm particularly excited because most of the time I have to get on a plane and compete at the other side of the world but in Glasgow my friends and family can all come and watch me compete.

"I'm definitely going for gold - that's the way I am. But if that doesn't happen I will take a lot of experience away and hopefully enjoy it."
