Lee Haskins targets European re-match after British title win
Lee Haskins has targeted a re-match with European bantamweight champion Stephane Jamoye after claiming the vacant British title.
Haskins stopped Newcastle's Martin Ward in the fifth round at the City Academy in Bristol on Saturday and is now focused on a meeting with the Belgian.
Jamoye beat the Bristolian in December, but must either defend or relinquish the EBU title this summer.
"I want to show people I'm the best in bantamweight," said Haskins.
"The first fight was a great fight and I think number two will be even better."
Saturday's bout was the first time Haskins had fought in his hometown for six years, and it was the first British title fight in the city for 15 years.
"The crowd were amazing. It felt like I was fighting for a world title out there," added 29-year-old Haskins.
"All I wanted to do was fight in Bristol. I showed devastating power and speed out there and I got the job done."
