The United States clinched their fifth Basketball World Cup title with a comprehensive 129-92 victory over Serbia in Madrid.

The favourites led 35-21 after a dominant opening quarter and were never threatened in Spain.

Cleveland guard Kyrie Irving top-scored for the USA with 26 points while Houston's James Harden contributed 23.

Forwards Nikola Kalinic and Nemanja Bjelica managed 18 points apiece for Serbia.
