Plymouth Raiders suffer double disappointment

Plymouth Raiders missed out on a place in the BBL Cup final after a demoralising weekend.

The Raiders lost 104-77 to Leicester Riders in the BBL Cup semi-finals on Saturday, suffering a 199-166 defeat on aggregate over the two legs.

"I think that's the first time this season we gave up a touch," said coach Jay Marriott.

And the Raiders' fortunes did not improve on Sunday as they lost 88-76 to league leaders Sheffield Sharks.

Trevor Setty top-scored with 21 for the Raiders, while Donald Robinson contributed 19.

"Heartbreak is all I can describe that loss... lead the game for 34mins... gutted... head in hands," tweeted Marriottexternal-link after the game.

The defeat leaves the Raiders in sixth place in the table, with seven wins and six defeats from their 13 games.
