Newcastle Eagles sealed the British Basketball League title without bouncing a ball, after Leicester Riders beat Plymouth Raiders on Wednesday.
The result ensured a third piece of silverware for the Eagles in 2011-12, following BBL Cup and Trophy wins earlier in the campaign.
"I am very proud of what the team has achieved this year," said managing director Paul Blake.
"They have had to dig deep and have won more close games than I can remember."
Blake, whose side failed to win a single piece of silverware in 2010-11, added: "It's an amazing bounce-back following last season.
"I am very pleased for Fab [Flournoy], the team and most importantly the supporters."
