Southampton Mustangs baseball team coach Ben Davis has backed his team to improve on their success from last season in the National Baseball League.
Mustangs finished fourth to reach the AAA play-off championships in their first season in the top flight.
"I think we can make the championships again and make it into the second round," Davis told BBC Radio Solent.
"We'd like to have similar success to last year. That's what we are trying to do and I think we have a good shot."
Since entering the British Baseball League in 2004, the Mustangs have climbed their way up the divisions, finally reaching the top flight at the end of the 2009 season.
"It's our players, we all have a single goal, we all love baseball we are all here because we love the game, we are not paid to do it," Davis said.
"We keep the guys around, we don't lose guys to other clubs and we work well as a unit and coming forward that has really helped."
The Mustangs, who begun their 2011 campaign with a 15-5 victory over Herts Falcons, next play Essex Arrows in their first home game of the season on 1 May.
