Sochi 2014: Vanessa-Mae describes her 'rock 'n' roll' debut
Vanessa-Mae describes her Olympic debut as "rock 'n' roll" after nearly crashing out several times in the giant slalom competition in Sochi on Tuesday.
The 35-year-old adds the field was made up of the world's elite skiers of the world and a "mad old woman", in reference to herself.
After successfully completing her two runs Vanessa-Mae, competing as Vanessa Vanakorn, was last place in the standings, just over 50 seconds behind the leader.
The gold medal was won by Slovenia's Tina Maze, her second gold of the games.
