Tokyo Olympics: Welsh swimmer Alys Thomas proud of reaching Olympic final

Welsh swimmer Alys Thomas says she is proud of reaching the Tokyo Olympics final after finishing seventh in the women’s 200m butterfly.

At her first Games, the 30-year-old swam 2:07.90 in the final as Chinese swimmer Yufei Zhang told gold in a new Olympic record.

Thomas will now consider whether to swim at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham next year after winning gold in 2018 in Australia.
