Donaldson not focusing on Ryder Cup

Jamie Donaldson says he is concentrating on doing well at the 2014 Wales Open despite the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles being just a week away.

The Welsh golfer secured a place on the European team for the clash against the USA, with victory in the Czech Masters in August.

Pontypridd-born Donaldson said he is looking forward to his Ryder Cup debut next week but for now is aiming to become the first Welsh winner of the Wales Open at Celtic Manor.

The 38-year-old shot a round of 70 on the course, to finish on one under par on the first day.
