Stosur deserves to be champion - Williams

Serena Williams says her outburst at the umpire did not affect the result after the favourite lost the US Open final to Australian Samantha Stosur.

The three-time champion will discover on Monday if she is to face any sanctions for the incident for which she was given a code violation for verbally abusing the official.

However, Williams is just happy to have made the final and to still be competing with the best following a year of health problems.
