Davies recalls record-breaking move north

Thirty years ago Welsh rugby union's brightest star and national team captain, Jonathan Davies, made a controversial and record-breaking switch to rugby league.

On 7 January, 1989 the dazzling fly-half was presented to the world as a Widnes player.

Davies signed for a then record fee of £230,000 - a move which subsequently led to several other high-profile internationals changing codes.
