Tommy Bowe confident he can still play big part in season

Ireland winger Tommy Bowe is upbeat following his surgery on a cruciate knee ligament injury last month and is confident he can still play a major part in the remainder of the season.

The Ulster player sustained the problem during Ireland's World Cup quarter-final defeat by Argentina in October.

"It was a devastating blow at the time but I have had my surgery and am upbeat about getting back to action in the 'nearish' future," said Bowe.

"I'm confident that I will be back before the end of the season and hopefully for a large part of the rest of the season."
