Pro12: Gareth Davies warrants Wales scrum-half chance - Jones

Former Wales and British and Irish Lions scrum-half Robert Jones believes Scarlets half-back Gareth Davies should be in Warren Gatland's national squad to tour South Africa in June.

Uncapped Davies, 23, has impressed for the region this season and leads the Pro12 try-scoring table with 10 touchdowns.

He is ahead of Scarlets rival Rhodri Williams in their pecking order, although the latter was involved with Wales during the 2014 Six Nations.

But pundit Jones told Scrum V that Davies should be on the plane to South Africa.

If so, Davies could challenge veteran Mike Phillips, of Racing Metro, and Ospreys' Rhys Webb, who vied with Phillips for the Wales Test jersey in the Six Nations.
