Scotland head coach Andy Robinson says appointing Kelly Brown as captain was an easy decision, describing the Saracens back row as an "inspirational" figure.
The 30-year-old Saracens player becomes Scotland's fifth captain in only two years. He takes over the role from Ross Ford.
Brown was due to skipper the side before injury ruled him out of this year's Six Nations, in which Scotland lost all five matches.
