Wigan's Sam Tomkins relishing New Zealand challenge

Sam Tomkins says it is "the right time" to leave Wigan for New Zealand Warriors, adding that he is relishing playing in the NRL, which he describes as the "toughest competition in the world".

The Warriors paid a world-record fee for Tomkins, eclipsing the £450,000 that Wigan spent on Stuart Fielden in 2006.

Tomkins, who will leave Wigan at the end of the Super League season, admits it was a difficult decision to leave the club and that he can never see himself playing for any other English side.
