Triple jumper Phillips Idowu tells BBC Sport that he "can't remember a time when I have performed that badly" after his early exit from the Olympic Games.
Idowu says it is now time to reflect on what has happened and spend some time with his family. He also suggested that an operation is likely in an attempt to resolve his injury problems.
The Beijing silver medallist said the decision not to join GB team-mates in Portugal ahead of the Games was made between him and his medical team.
