Campriani breaks record to win gold

Italy's Niccolo Campriani breaks the Olympic 50m rifle record scoring a total of 1278.5 to claim gold, with South Korea's Jonghyun Kim picking up silver and USA's Matt Emmons bronze.

Campriani dominated throughout the competition breaking Raymond Debevec's record, which had stood for 12 years, by more than a 100 points.

USA's Matt Emmons was in second place up until the last round, with a lead of 1.6, but after a disappointing final shot only scoring 7.6 he allowed Kim to pinch the silver medal position.
