Rhode wins gold to make US history

Kim Rhode becomes the first American to win individual medals at five straight Olympics by winning skeet shooting gold at the Royal Artillery Barracks on Sunday.

After claiming gold in the double trap in 1996 and 2004, silver in the skeet in Beijing four years ago and a bronze in double trap in Sydney 2000, Rhode can now add a fifth straight medal.

She secured the title with seven shots remaining, shooting a world record-equalling 99 to finish eight points ahead of China's Wei Ning - with Slovakia's Danka Bartekova claiming the bronze
