Frazer pays tribute to departing Ireland coach

Ireland captain Megan Frazer pays tribute to departing coach Darren Smith after any lingering hopes of an Olympic place were ended by a 6-1 defeat by the USA in a World League 3 play-offs game in Valencia.

"Darren has been outstanding since day one. He has been an unbelievable influence on Irish hockey and is the best coach I have ever worked with. We will miss him incredibly."

The Irish skipper added that the squad will "look to keep building" under new head coach Graham Shaw, who moves up from the job of assistant coach for the European Championships in August.
