Gymnast Luke Carson says leg fracture was 'a ticking timebomb'

Luke Carson says the leg break which threatens the future of his gymnastics career was 'a ticking timebomb' after he suffered a probable stress fracture when landing badly a few weeks ago.

The Lisburn man broke his left tibia for the second time in two years and his treatment options are currently being assessed at Great Yarmouth hospital.

"I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to do the floor or vault again but there remains the possibility of me doing other pieces like the pommel horse," said the Commonwealth Games hopeful.
