Clarke picks Ulster rugby brains

European Ryder Cup captain Darren Clarke reveals that he recently spent time with the Ulster rugby team as he continued his planning for the biennial match against the USA next Autumn.

"I enjoyed it. I'm a huge rugby fan and it was great to spend a bit of time with (Ulster's director of rugby) Les Kiss and the backroom team and Rory Best as well," said Clarke.

"I met them before Rory was announced as the new Ireland rugby captain and I was delighted to hear about his appointment.

"To get in and see how they prepare for big matches was certainly an eye-opener for me and something I learned quite a lot from."
