Rory McIlroy is pleased with his first-round 68 at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth which was highlighted by two eagles.
"The eagles helped the scorecard a lot. Any time you have two eagles in a round, you are going to do pretty well," said McIlroy, who was playing his first competitive round since news emerged that his engagement with Caroline Wozniacki had ended.
"For the most part, I played solid. I tried to focus on each shot as it came."
McIlroy's four-under-par round left him six behind leader Thomas Bjorn.
