Ryder Cup 2012: Jose Maria Olazabal credits 'awesome' US

European captain Jose Maria Olazabal pays credit to an "awesome" first day performance from the United States that sees them lead by two points, after winning three of the afternoons four matches.

The Spaniard felt the morning's play "went ok" in which each side won two matches each and praises the "amazing" performance of debutant Nicolas Colsaerts for his role in winning the afternoon's final match.

However, Europe lost the three other fourball matches but Olazabal says he's "comfortable" with his decision to rest Ian Poulter, who had won in the morning with Justin Rose.
