Graeme McDowell dreams of Portrush Open

Former US Open champion Graeme McDowell says holding a European Tour event at Royal Portrush would be a dream come true for him, and could be the first step towards the Open taking place at the Northern Ireland course.

The Stormont Executive has said it would provide "substantial financial backing" for such a tournament.

Darren Clarke's memorable three-stroke win on Sunday saw the 42-year-old join Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell as players from Northern Ireland who have won majors in the last 13 months.
