FA Cup Tour Day 1 - North East

Day 1- Longhoughton Rangers FC, Northumberland

Formed as recently as 2002, Longhoughton Rangers Youth Football Club in Northumberland has 150 boys and girls age 7 to 16 playing football in 10 teams in leagues across Newcastle and the North East. 30 unpaid coaches and volunteers dedicate many hours to provide the youngsters with the best possible footballing experience enabling them to enjoy fun and friendship through football.

The Club's efforts were recognised by the FA in 2009 when they were awarded the FA National Charter Standard Development Club of the Year, the only time a Northumberland Club has won such an award.

The Club is based at Westfield Park, a fantastic £1.5M Football and Community venue funded by the Football Foundation, the District Council and the Royal Air Force. The Westfield Park floodlit 3G training area also hosts many other local youth and adult clubs whilst the building is home to a diverse range of community groups such as Scouts, Brownies, Mums and Tots, the WI and Carpet Bowlers. A great example of what can be achieved when the community work together!
