One of the world's greatest cyclists, Marianne Vos first hopped on a bike at the age of five when she went with her father and brother to their local cycling club. She insists 'I never thought about being pro when I was a kid... I just loved to ride'.
Nevertheless the Dutchwoman has gone on to become a multi-time World Champion on the road and track, and has two and Olympic gold medals to her name.
Somehow she has also found the time to become a seven-time World Cyclo-Cross champion - a form of racing which involves navigating a winding, obstacle-filled course where you even have to pick your bike up and run with it over certain sections!
If Marianne has inspired you to dust off your bike, take a look at the Get Inspired guide to road cycling and find out how you can get involved.
