Kieran McGeeney says sub 'shambles' summed up Armagh misfortune in Laois

Kieran McGeeney says the brief incorrect substitution of Tony Kernan during the 1-10 to 0-10 qualifier defeat by Laois summed up Armagh's day.

"The fourth official said that the name 'Miceal McKenna' looked like Tony Kernan. That was the reason we were given," said the Armagh manager.

"It seemed like a bit of a shambles to me but that was the just the way it turned out."

McGeeney praised his players for their efforts at Portlaoise but said the failure to convert chances and bad shot selection contributed to the defeat.
