Donnelly dismissal 'deflated' Fermanagh

Fermanagh manager Peter McGrath says Eoin Donnelly's sending off early in the second half had a big effect in the Dr McKenna Cup semi-final at Clones as Tyrone pulled away to win 1-13 to 0-9.

"We played some very good football in the first half and at half-time we knew Tyrone were going to fire on a number of their more experienced players and we were bracing ourselves for that challenge," said McGrath.

"Then within four or five minutes of the second half, our captain got sent off and that did deflate our team considerably.

"I think in the first half, Eoin Donnelly was the outstanding player on the field and he was leading by example."
