Cavanagh says memories of McAnallen inspired Tyrone win

Sean Cavanagh says Cormac McAnallen's spirit was invoked at half-time as Tyrone somehow fought back to beat Kildare at Newbridge.

"We did mention him at half-time and before the game," said Cavanagh, after the Red Hands hit two last-gasp goals to beat the shell-shocked Lilywhites 3-16 to 1-21, on the 10th anniversary of Tyrone great McAnallen's sudden death.

Cavanagh acknowledged the attack-minded Lilywhites had been cruelly defeated after playing some "fantastic football" in Sunday's game.

"Cormac never would have thrown in the towel."
