Lewis Hamilton & Sebastian Vettel explain Australian GP retirements
Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel explain their unfortunate starts to the Formula 1 season after they were both forced to retire early on during the season-opening Australian Grand Prix.
Despite starting from his 32nd-career pole, Hamilton found himself in third place after the first corner and was soon down in fifth before being asked by the team to retire the car, while Vettel also pulled into the pits soon after following engine trouble.
Both drivers then looked on from the pits as their respective team-mates claimed a one-two finish at Melbourne's Albert Park with Nico Rosberg taking victory for Mercedes and Daniel Ricciardo finishing second for Red Bull, but the Australian was subsequently disqualified.
