Ecclestone says Bahrain Grand Prix will go ahead

Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone tells BBC Sport's Lee McKenzie "everybody's happy" to stage the Bahrain Grand Prix despite security concerns caused by civil unrest.

Ecclestone denies that team bosses discussed cancelling the race, adding that the media have "no idea what's going on".

A number of commentators including 1996 world champion Damon Hill and Red Bull's Mark Webber had raised concerns about the safety of staging the race, but three-time champion Sir Jackie Stewart believes the race should proceed as scheduled.
