The exciting rise of Sauber's Sergio Perez

BBC Sport takes a look at the exciting talent of Sauber's Sergio Perez following his dramatic second place at the Malaysian Grand Prix in March - a race many feel he should have won over Ferrari's Fernando Alonso.

The 22-year-old Mexican made his debut at the 2011 Australian Grand Prix, finishing an impressive seventh before his car was disqualified on technical grounds, and despite struggling for the rest of his first season - including a heavy crash in qualifying at Monaco - Sauber were convinced of his talent enough to retain Perez for 2012.

Watch full live coverage of the Chinese Grand Prix on the BBC, starting with practice at 0300 BST on Friday.
