Seamus Coleman thrilled by first Republic of Ireland goal in win over Georgia

Seamus Coleman says scoring his first Republic of Ireland goal on his 40th international appearance is a "moment that will stay with me forever".

Coleman's 56th-minute goal earned a vital 1-0 win in the World Cup qualifier against Georgia at the Aviva Stadium after the Republic had laboured for long periods.

"As a kid you just want to play for your country and to score for your country is an amazing feeling," said the Everton defender, 27.

The Republic's win was marred by a clash of heads which left Robbie Brady concussed and Coleman said it was immediately apparent that the Norwich winger had been hurt.

"Robbie's a great lad, an honest lad, so you know when he goes down, it's quite serious."
