Sam Allardyce's position as England manager was untenable - Boyce

Former Fifa vice-president Jim Boyce says Sam Allardyce's position as England manager was untenable after a newspaper investigation claimed he offered advice on how to "get around" rules on transfers.

The Football Association said Allardyce had left his post " by mutual agreement" on Monday evening.

"I think for the FA, who are an organisation that are based on integrity, honesty and transparency, I don't think there was any other decision that could have been made," said Boyce, who is also an Honorary Life President of the Irish Football Association.
