Euro 2016 experience will give Northern Ireland belief - manager O'Neill
Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill says the experience his squad is gaining at Euro 2016 will give them confidence and belief going into the World Cup qualifying series, which begins in September.
"The team will be in a strong position going forward if some of the older players feel this is the time to consider their international future," said the NI boss.
O'Neill adds that he believes the knockout format of the last-16 stage will suit his players, that he has enjoyed the experience of being a coach at the tournament and there is "a great mood in the camp".
The interview with BBC Sport's Stephen Watson was conducted prior to confirmation that Northern Ireland would play Wales in the last 16 stage in Paris on Saturday.
