Euro 2016: Republic of Ireland difficult opposition for Belgium says Vincent Kompany

Injured Belgium skipper Vincent Kompany says the Republic of Ireland will be "very tough opposition" for Marc Wilmots' side in Saturday's Euro 2016 game in Bordeaux.

Belgians, currently second in the Fifa rankings, are aiming to bounce back from their comprehensive 2-0 opening defeat by Italy while the Irish earned an opening draw with Sweden.

"I see so many red flags when I look at their (the Republic of Ireland) team. Players all over the pitch that you think on a good day after very, very difficult to play against," said Manchester City centre-back Kompany, who is missing the tournament because of a groin injury.
