Kyle Cherry strike sees Carrick move off bottom by beating Swifts

Carrick Rangers moved off the bottom of the Irish Premiership with a 1-0 victory over Dungannon Swifts at Seaview on Wednesday.

Kyle Cherry scored the winner midway through the second half, slotting the ball past goalkeeper Stuart Addis from an Aaron Harmon cross.

The result ended a run of five league games without a victory for Carrick, as they moved ahead of Warrenpoint in the battle for top-flight survival.

Dungannon remain eighth, six points clear of the relegation zone.
